Shigematsu & Co., Ltd. was established in 1963 at Higashi-ku (the current Chuo-ku), Osaka, as a trading company of food and chemical products imported from Europe (mainly from the former West-Germany). Since then, in the midst of rapid economic growth and the following market globalization, we have been offering various products and information to our customers through our own accumulated know-how and our business network.

Being significantly affected by global economic changes followed by the bubble burst and the recent global depression, and also by the natural disaster of the Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, we have overcome every severe environment with all our force. We attribute our success to the continuing support and encouragement from all of our customers and business friends, for which we would like to express our deep and sincere gratitude.

In future, aiming at not only our market but also emerging economies including China and India, we will further enhance our skill and knowledge, acquired from years of experience, and by which we adapted ourselves to rapid and drastic environmental changes in the past. In full compliance with all laws and regulations as our code of conduct, while bearing in mind higher environmental and ecological consciousness, we would assure quality customer service, and also develop and promote our corporate social responsibility.
